In 2016, during childbirth, I almost died from an Amniotic Fluid Embolism — a rare and often fatal medical emergency that changed my life forever. In the moments when my body failed, I entered a place of overwhelming peace. I found myself outside my body, fully aware, experiencing a reality far greater than anything I had ever known.
In that space between life and eternity, I encountered angels, sensed the presence of loved ones who had gone before me, and became aware of the very real darkness of demons. And in the midst of it all, I heard the unmistakable voice of God.
I also know this: many of YOU are part of the reason I’m still here.
Your prayers for me during that time reached Heaven.
God heard you.
And I am alive today, in part because of the faith of those who cried out on my behalf.
When God sent me back, I made Him a promise:
I would share my story.
The night I came home from the hospital — weak, shaken, and still trying to understand what had happened — I sat down and wrote everything I experienced. Every detail was still vivid. God wouldn’t let me forget a single moment. He preserved it in my heart so that I could one day tell this testimony exactly as He revealed it to me.
But when I finally started searching for answers… I was confused, scared, and unsure what an AFE truly was. I looked everywhere for hope — for someone who had experienced what I had — and I couldn’t find a story like mine.
That’s when I realized something:
Maybe I survived so I could become the hope I had been searching for.
So if you have survived an AFE, lost someone close to you, walked through grief, or simply need a story of hope in the midst of darkness… this book is for you.
Since 2016, I’ve tried for years to shape it, edit it, and prepare it to share. But life continued to bring hurdles… delays, distractions, and moments that made me wonder if the enemy was trying to keep me from fulfilling the promise I made to God.
Yet here I am — finally releasing the story He entrusted to me.
To honor what I survived and support others walking this same unimaginable path, 10% of all proceeds will be donated to the AFE Foundation. Their mission is to support survivors, families, and research for Amniotic Fluid Embolism.
